


Outdoor Life Grand Slam Adventures Contest
The “Grand Slam Adventures” Contest is sponsored by Outdoor Life, 2 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10016 (“Sponsor”). Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, Canada, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico who are 19 years old or older at time of entry, and who are experienced hunters with several years of experience in the field. All participants must have completed their hunter safety training and/or provide a valid hunting license (“Entrant”). Employees of Sponsor and each of Sponsor’s affiliates, parent companies and subsidiaries, distributors, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each of the foregoing are not eligible. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.
TO ENTER:
Go to http://www.outdoorlife.com/grandslam and follow the instructions to submit your entry online. Online entries must be received no later than 11:59 P.M. EST on January 15, 2010. Entrants will be asked to enter their contact information, their hunter safety card id or license #, their past hunting successes, submit a photo and a short description of up to 250 words about why partaking in Outdoor Life’s Montana Grand Slam Adventure would be a once in-a-lifetime experience for them and how their previous hunting experiences have prepared them to take part in this event. One (1) entry per person. Each entry must be an original, non-published work written in English, and the content must be appropriate for a national magazine as determined by Outdoor Life’s editors. Entrant subject to all notices posted online, including but not limited to Privacy Policy. Once submitted, all entries become the property of Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned. Incomplete entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification.
JUDGING:
Entries will be evaluated equally on content and judged by a panel of Outdoor Life editors. Decisions of the judges are final and binding in all respects. Winners will be notified by phone/e-mail and mail on or about February 15, 2010.
WINNER NOTIFICATION:
Potential Winners will be notified by Sponsor on or about February 15, 2010, either by mail, the telephone number or the e-mail address provided on his/her Official Entry Form. Potential Winners must also meet all eligibility requirements, including the execution and return of all necessary releases. Potential Winners may be required to provide proof of identity, address and birth date, as well as execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, tax acknowledgment form, liability release and, except where prohibited by law, publicity release within 30 days of date of issuance either via facsimile, U.S. registered mail or Express Mail in order to claim the prize. If any Potential Winner fails to do so or if: (i) any prize notification is returned as undeliverable, (ii) a Potential Winner declines his or her prize or cannot travel on dates specified by Sponsor, or (iii) a Potential Winner is determined to be ineligible for reason, such Potential Winner will be disqualified and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, a runner-up will be notified.
PRIZES:
One (1) Winner will receive a hunting trip with an Outdoor Life editor to take part in completing the Outdoor Life Montana Grand Slam Adventure. The Outdoor Life Montana Grand Slam will consist of taking a prized bull elk, whitetail or mule deer, as well as upland bird hunting and a fishing bonus. The Grand Slam Adventure will be covered on both OutdoorLife.com as well as in Outdoor Life magazine and footage would be captured for both print and video usage. Outdoor Life will endeavor to outfit the winner with the necessary equipment for the hunt, but the winner may be responsible for bringing along some of their own gear and clothing. Prizes will include round-trip economy-class airfare, ground transportation to the hunting site, trophy fees, meals, tips and lodging. Approximate total retail value of prize is $8,500. Winner must be able to travel and complete the hunting trip during the time period defined for the hunt, or the Prize may be awarded to the first runner-up at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Potential Winners are responsible for all travel documentation, including having a valid passport/ID. Potential Winners must provide 30 days written notice to allow for travel arrangements and accommodations, which are subject to availability. Airline and accommodations chosen at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Actual value of prize may vary based on timing and point of departure. Potential Winners are responsible for all taxes and all other expenses not included in the prize package, including, without limitation, trophy preparation (meat and taxidermy) and shipping, additional animals taken on trophy fee basis, souvenirs, phone calls, incidentals, and other personal expenses, including all gear. No transfer, cash or prize substitution is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize (or prize component) of equal or greater value for any reason. The hunting trip with the Outdoor Life editor will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion subject to availability. In the event that the trip is postponed or canceled for any reason, Sponsor shall award the balance of the Prize and shall have no further liability to the Potential Winners.
GENERAL RULES & LIMITATIONS:
By entering, Entrant grants to Sponsor and its respective affiliates the right to publish, edit, promote, and otherwise use the Entrant’s entry—including but not limited to name, address, likeness, photos, essay and other information provided in the entry—in any and all media without further permission, notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law. The Winners and Runners-Up shall be required to grant in writing to Sponsor the right to use his or her name, address, likeness, photo, essay and other information provided by Entrants’ registration and entry in any and all media without further permission, notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law. By entering, Entrant represents and warrants to the Sponsor that: (1) the entry is the Entrant’s original work and (2) the entry does not and will not infringe upon or violate the rights of any third party. By participating in the Contest, Entrant agrees to release Sponsor and its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, employees, officers, directors, shareholders, representatives, agents and advertising, promotional or judging agencies, or prize supplier from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, possession, use, misuse, loss or misdirection of any prize, or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to or from any contest or prize related activity.
Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures, or other errors or problems which may occur in connection with the Contest, whether computer, network, technical, mechanical, typographical, printing, human or otherwise, including, without limitation, errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prizes, in any Contest-related materials, or that may limit prize fulfillment or a participant’s ability to enter the Contest.
In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online Entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Authorized Account Holder means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered or mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. The Sponsor is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic computer hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination therefore, or any injury or damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Contest. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to select Winners from eligible entries received as of the termination date.
CAUTION:
ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.
