If you are going to travel all the way to Alaska for the hunt of a lifetime, you’d better have firearms and ammunition that are up to the task. That’s why our Grand Slam Adventure winner will be outfitted with Remington firearms and ammo.

For the big-game hunts, the winner will use a .300 Ultra Mag Remington Model 700 XCR with a 26-inch barrel and Hogue overmolded stock and forend. The rifle’s TriNyte Corrosion Control System is the prefect antidote for Alaska’s notorious harsh, wet climate.

Given the variety of big game that will be encountered on the hunt, most hunters would need more than one rifle. But Remington’s specially designed Power Level Ammo offers multiple performance levels from one caliber and one gun. For the brown bear, our hunter will fire Remington Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded Power Level III. For black bear and caribou, he’ll load Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded Power Level II. The Core-Lokt Ultra bonded bullet provides outstanding accuracy and controlled expansion at ranges from 50 to 400 yards. In addition, the bullet retains to 95 percent of its weight for superior knockdown power.

When chasing spruce grouse and ptarmigan, our winner will carry the 12-gauge Remington Model 105 CTi. This new autoloader features ProBore chokes, an aircraft-grade titanium receiver, target- grade trigger and a rotating bolt lock-up for efficient, reliable operation. High-performance Wingmaster HD 3-inch nontoxic shotgun shells provide tighter patterns and improved range.
