Get ready for the second round of Outdoor Life's Grand Slam Adventures!

This time we took one lucky reader, Shawn White, into the wild for a chance to accomplish the biggest challenge in the springwoods — a wild turkey Grand Slam. And we took this endeavor to an even higher level, Shawn had to tag his Osceola, Eastern, Rio Grande and Merriam’s gobblers in just nine days.

The adventure began in Florida, where Shawn joined Outdoor Life's Deputy Editor and turkey-hunting expert, Doug Howlett, to kick things off with a hunt for an Osceola wild turkey. They couldn't waste time, though, as they had only two days to tag this elusive trophy before it’s back in a truck and down the highway on a classic road trip to the Midwest. There, they completed the bulk of the challenge by calling and pursuing the Eastern, Rio and Merriam’s.

Hunting four species of wild turkey in a large area might seem like a daunting task. However, our participant will have the advantage of DeLorme’s Earthmate GPS PN-20.
