OUTDOOR LIFE TIP //
It’s important to drain, flush and refill your cooling system at least once a year
BATTERY AND CABLES //
- Battery should be securely mounted
- Battery connection should be clean, tight and corrosion free
- Replace battery if it is 3 years or older
BELTS //
- Check V-belts and serpentine belts for looseness and condition
- Replace when cracked, frayed, glazed or showing signs of excessive wear
- Replace timing belt per interval specified in owner's manual (typically 60,000 to 90,000 miles)
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT //
- If light comes on while driving or remains on, your vehicle may have an emissions or sensor problem and should be analyzed
- If light flashes, the condition is more severe and must be checked immediately to prevent catalytic converter damage
EMISSIONS //
- Inspect for leaks, damage and broken supports or hangers if there is an unusual noise
SPARK PLUGS //
- Are tucked away and might need swivel and sometimes double swivel sockets to reach them
- When removing the old plugs, lay them out in order to see which are burning differently and which cylinders are involved
- Put a small amount of anti-seize compound on the threads of the new plugs

Air Up Check tire inflation at least once a month. Take the readings when the tires are cold. Air pressure will drop 1 to 2 psi for every 10-degree drop in temperature, so check pressures more often in winter months
Sinking Sands Lower the air pressure in your tires will widen their footprint and improve traction. Maintain momentum, in soft sand, but take care with the throttle, as wheelspin will dig tires in down to the axles.
Driving in Ruts Take care when driving in deep ruts, as your front tires will tend to follow the ruts regardless of steering-wheel input.
